Walmart is recalling about 165,000 Mainstays 9-Drawer Fabric Dressers because federal safety officials say the units can tip over if they are not anchored to a wall. Owners should stop using unanchored dressers, keep them away from children and contact Walmart for a full refund.

Walmart is recalling about 165,000 Mainstays 9-Drawer Fabric Dressers after federal safety officials said the dressers can tip over if they are not anchored to a wall. Owners should stop using an unanchored dresser immediately, move it away from children and contact Walmart for a full refund.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on May 28. The agency’s notice lists recall number 26-522 and says no incidents or injuries have been reported.
The recall covers Mainstays-branded 9-drawer fabric dressers with a black metal frame and nine fabric drawers. The drawers are brown or black and have handles.
The recalled dresser measures about 40 inches long, 13.75 inches wide and 45 inches tall. It weighs about 32 pounds.
CPSC said the dressers were manufactured from September 2023 through December 2025. Walmart sold them in stores nationwide and online at Walmart.com from September 2023 through March 2026 for about $80.
The notice names Hop Thang Interior Wood Co. Ltd., of Vietnam, as the manufacturer and Walmart Inc., of Bentonville, Arkansas, as the retailer.
Owners should look for the product name “Mainstays 9-Drawer Fabric Dresser” on the product order receipt or packaging.
The dresser also has a label under the top panel. That label includes tracking or lot information and a manufacture date in MM/YYYY format, according to CPSC.
The recall notice does not list a UPC or separate model number in the product details. That makes the product name, appearance, purchase channel, sale window and label under the top panel the most useful checks for consumers.
CPSC said the recalled dressers are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall. The hazard is a tip-over and entrapment risk that can cause serious injury or death to children.
The notice says the dressers violate the mandatory safety standard required by the STURDY Act. That federal law covers clothing storage units and is intended to reduce injuries and deaths from furniture tip-overs involving children.
CPSC guidance says fabric dressers with drawers can be treated as clothing storage units when they meet the rule’s criteria, including being free-standing and meeting height, weight and storage-volume thresholds.
For any recalled dresser that is not anchored to the wall, consumers should stop using it immediately and place it in an area children cannot access.

Several POM power bank lines sold in TK Maxx and Homesense stores are being recalled over a fire risk linked to internal wiring. Owners should stop using affected models immediately and return them for a refund or replacement.

Wyze Solar Cam Pan security cameras are under recall because the wrong screw can puncture the lithium-ion battery and create a fire or burn hazard. Owners should check model WYZESCPWH and use Wyze’s recall process for a refund, replacement or gift card.

Consumers should not assume a similar-looking dresser is safe or recalled without checking the product name and label. Anyone unsure whether a dresser is included should contact Walmart before continuing to use it in a child-accessible area.
CPSC said Walmart is offering a full refund. Consumers will be asked to return the dresser’s drawers to any Walmart store and dispose of the dresser frame according to local and state regulations.
The recall notice does not say customers must bring the frame to a store. It says the drawers should be returned to Walmart and the frame should be disposed of separately under applicable rules.
Walmart can be reached at 800-925-6278 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. CT Monday through Friday. CPSC also directs consumers to Walmart’s help site or Walmart’s corporate recall page for more information.
CPSC said no incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled dressers.
The current recall notice does not list a repair kit, replacement program or UPC. The stated remedy is a refund.
Recall instructions can change. Owners should recheck CPSC recall number 26-522 or Walmart’s recall instructions before taking action if they see conflicting information or bought a similar-looking Mainstays dresser.
