The FDA’s major recall hub lists multiple foods made with or repackaged from California Dairies powdered milk and buttermilk recalled for potential Salmonella risk. Consumers should check product-specific notices for lot codes, UPCs, best-by dates and refund instructions.

The California Dairies powdered milk recall is not one consumer powdered-milk carton. The FDA is tracking a broader list of foods that used or repackaged recalled California Dairies powdered milk or buttermilk tied to potential Salmonella risk, so consumers should check the exact brand, product size, UPC, lot code and date before using anything on the list.
On April 20, California Dairies Inc. recalled bulk powdered milk and buttermilk distributed to wholesale distributors and manufacturers, the FDA said. Because those ingredients went into other products, the agency said it is working with downstream consignees to determine whether additional customer recalls are needed.
The FDA hub was marked content current as of June 1. The latest product in that hub was Motor City Pizza Co. 5 Cheese Bread, posted by the FDA on June 1 from a May 29 company announcement.
That matters because consumers should not rely on brand names alone. In several notices, only certain lots, UPCs, best-by dates or sell-by dates are included.
As of the latest FDA hub checked, the downstream product removals included:
The product-specific FDA notices include the full identifiers, which can include item numbers, UPCs, lot codes, batch codes, best-by dates, sell-by dates, distribution states or retailer names.
FDA also posted a Sugar Foods recall for Kroger Homestyle Cheese Garlic Croutons tied to California Dairies milk powder used in a seasoning blend. That notice covers 5-ounce Kroger crouton pouches with UPC 0 11110 81353 4 and specific best-if-used-by dates from February through April 2027.

Several POM power bank lines sold in TK Maxx and Homesense stores are being recalled over a fire risk linked to internal wiring. Owners should stop using affected models immediately and return them for a refund or replacement.

Wyze Solar Cam Pan security cameras are under recall because the wrong screw can puncture the lithium-ion battery and create a fire or burn hazard. Owners should check model WYZESCPWH and use Wyze’s recall process for a refund, replacement or gift card.

Because the Sugar Foods recall appeared as a separate FDA notice, consumers checking the California Dairies list should include that Kroger crouton notice in their review.
Start with the product name and brand, then match the size, UPC, lot number, batch code and date printed on the package. A similar product from the same brand is not necessarily included unless the FDA notice lists that exact package or code.
The notices do not share one retailer footprint. Some products were described as sold nationwide, while others were limited to certain retailers, e-commerce, restaurants, cafes or specific states.
If a package matches a recalled item, consumers should not eat or use it and should follow the company instructions in the relevant FDA notice. Those instructions vary: some notices tell consumers to discard the product, some say to return it to the place of purchase, and some provide refund or replacement contact information.
Consumers should keep the package or take a photo of the identifying code when the notice asks for it. Retailers and restaurants should also check inventory against the exact codes listed in the FDA notices.
FDA-posted company notices describe Salmonella as an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and people with weakened immune systems. The notices describe symptoms in otherwise healthy people as fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain, and say rare cases can become more severe if the organism enters the bloodstream.
Several downstream notices said no illnesses had been reported for the recalled products at the time of their announcements. That status should be checked against the newest FDA notice for the specific product because the broader California Dairies review can still change.
The FDA said it is working with downstream consignees, which means additional products can be added if more companies identify affected ingredients in finished goods or repackaged products.
The safest update path is to check the FDA major recall hub first, then search FDA’s individual recall notices for California Dairies, the brand name and the product in your pantry, freezer or retail inventory. This article should be updated whenever the FDA adds a downstream product, changes a product notice, reports illnesses or posts new lot-code information.

Haleon recalled four lots of Gas-X Extra Strength Softgels 125 mg after possible coolant contamination during packaging. Consumers should check UPCs and lot numbers TL8K, YH9X, YH9Y and X78N and stop using affected packages.
