The KTL Glitter and Glow Magical Sand Art Kit has been recalled over a possible asbestos contamination risk in the sand. Owners should check model TY7626 and barcode 5033849865252, stop using the kit and follow official disposal or return instructions.

The KTL Glitter and Glow Magical Sand Art Kit has been recalled because the sand in the kit may be contaminated with a small quantity of asbestos. Parents and carers should stop children using it immediately, keep it out of reach and check the model and barcode on the packaging.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards published the recall notice on GOV.UK on 8 June 2026. It says the product has been withdrawn from the market and recalled from end users by KTL, formerly Kandy Toys.
The recall applies to the KTL Glitter and Glow Magical Sand Art Kit, a children’s sand art kit with plastic bottles and five types of coloured sand.
The official product report shows a colourful boxed “Magical Sand” kit with coloured sand sachets, plastic bottle shapes and craft accessories. Owners should use the product name, model and barcode to check whether their kit is included.
The notice does not list a batch code, pack size or best-before date. That means the clearest identifiers are the product name, model number and barcode.
The recall notice says the sand inside the kit may be contaminated with a small quantity of asbestos. Asbestos is banned because it can pose a health risk even at low levels of exposure.
OPSS says the product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011. Its wider guidance on asbestos in consumer products says there is no safe level of asbestos in consumer products, and that the most important step is to stop using an affected product and follow the recall advice.
The notice does not state whether any illness or injury reports have been received. It also marks the product’s risk level as “not provided”.
Owners should stop using the product immediately and keep it out of the reach of children.
If the sand is still in its packaging, place it in a heavy-duty plastic bag, double tape it securely, label it clearly and store it in a secure location away from children.
If the sand has been used, clean any area where it was used with wet cloths to avoid generating dust. OPSS says gloves and a mask should be worn, and that the sand, gloves, mask and cloths should be double bagged.
Children and other people should be kept away from areas where the sand has been used until the area has been cleaned.
The recall notice says the product should be returned to the store where specified by the retailer for a full refund.

GOPO TOYS pull string teething toys sold on Amazon are recalled because the silicone strings can lodge in a child’s throat. CPSC says consumers should stop using the toy, check the batch number and contact GOPO Toys for a refund.

Beekeeper’s Naturals is recalling lot 5950 of its Saline Nasal Spray sold through Amazon after testing found microbial contamination concerns. Consumers should check the lot number, stop using affected bottles and contact the company for a refund.
If the product cannot be returned to a retailer, owners should follow the disposal steps and contact their local authority or check the local authority website for guidance on safe asbestos disposal in their area.
GOV.UK also directs consumers to KTL Recalls for further information, or to KTL customer service on 01395 234600.
The recall notice says additional distributors may be added and further instructions may be provided as recalls are launched. The notice does not name a full retailer or distributor list.
Owners should check official recall updates before travelling to a store, especially if they bought the kit from a third-party seller or cannot find their receipt.
This article will be refreshed if GOV.UK or KTL adds retailer names, distributor details, new return instructions or additional product identifiers.

About 2,200 BABESIDE Doll and Stroller Toys sold on Amazon are recalled because the toy pacifier and plush bear can pose choking hazards, the CPSC says. Consumers should take those accessories away from children and contact HYBDOLLS for free replacements.
