Target is recalling select Up & Up Fragrance Free and Fresh Cucumber Scented baby wipes over potential microbial contamination. The affected products include specific UPCs, date codes and expiration dates listed by Target and the FDA.

Target is recalling select Up & Up Fragrance Free and Fresh Cucumber Scented baby wipes sold in stores and online after FDA testing identified bacteria in product samples. Parents and caregivers should stop using affected wipes, check the UPC and date codes on the package, and return recalled products to Target for a full refund.
The recall covers specific Up & Up baby wipes sizes, not every Target baby wipe product. FDA and Target list the affected products as follows.
Up & Up Fragrance Free Baby Wipes — 20 count
For Up & Up Fragrance Free Baby Wipes, the recalled manufacturing date codes run from November 7, 2025, shown as 071125X/XX, through May 5, 2026, shown as 050526X/XXX. The affected expiration dates run from May 10, 2028, shown as 100528, through November 5, 2028, shown as 051128.
For Up & Up Fresh Cucumber Scented Baby Wipes, the recalled manufacturing codes run from December 29, 2025, shown as 291225X/XX, through December 30, 2025, shown as 301225X/XX. The affected expiration dates run from June 29, 2028, shown as 290628, through June 30, 2028, shown as 300628.

Target said it began the voluntary recall after customer complaints of product discoloration and FDA testing that identified Burkholderia cepacia complex and Burkholderia gladioli in product samples. The recalled wipes were manufactured by supplier Sapro Temizlik Urunleri and sold at Target stores nationwide and on Target.com.
The FDA notice says products contaminated with those bacteria may result in serious and life-threatening infections. Newborns, infants, young children and immunocompromised people are described as especially vulnerable.
For healthy people, the recall notice says use on skin with minor lesions is more likely to result in local infections. In more vulnerable people, the infection may spread to the bloodstream and potentially lead to sepsis or pneumonia.
Target and the FDA say consumers should immediately stop using the recalled wipes and return them to any Target store for a full refund. Check the product name, count, UPC, Target item number and date codes before using any remaining Up & Up wipes at home, in a diaper bag or at a child care setting.
Target lists Guest Relations at 1-800-440-0680 for in-store purchases. The company says that line is available from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. CT daily. For online purchases, Target’s recall page lists Target.com Guest Services at 1-800-591-3869.
Target said it and Sapro Temizlik Urunleri received consumer complaints and adverse event reports alleging product discoloration, skin irritation, eye irritation and infections potentially associated with use of the wipes. The company said those reports remain under investigation.
The FDA notice does not provide a specific number of reports. It also does not say the investigation has determined a final root cause.
The FDA recall notice was listed as content current as of June 5, 2026, and Target’s recall page lists the recall date as June 4, 2026. Recall details should be checked again if Target or the FDA adds products, changes date-code guidance, posts a recall classification or issues new consumer instructions.
