The 79th Annual Tony Awards were held Sunday, June 7, at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Tony Award Productions had announced Pink as host for the CBS and Paramount+ ceremony.
“Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman” won Best Revival of a Play and added wins for Laurie Metcalf, Joe Mantello, Chloe Lamford, Jack Knowles and Mikaal Sulaiman. The Associated Press described the production as earning a leading six Tonys.
“Ragtime” won Best Revival of a Musical and also took lead musical acting awards for Joshua Henry and Caissie Levy. Kai Harada won Sound Design of a Musical for the revival.
“Schmigadoon!” paired its Best Musical win with awards for book, original score and orchestrations. Doug Besterman and Mike Morris won Best Orchestrations for the show.
“The Lost Boys” also had a strong night, with wins for Ali Louis Bourzgui, Shoshana Bean, Dane Laffrey, and Jen Schriever and Michael Arden.


The official winners list also included Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre honors for André Bishop, James Lapine and Jules Fisher.
The League of Resident Theatres received a Special Tony Award. Mary-Mitchell Campbell received the Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award, and Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre went to the 1/52 Project, Jake Bell, Kenn Lubin and Loren Plotkin.
