Wyndham Clark leads the 2026 U.S. Open as Round 1 resumes Friday at Shinnecock Hills. Here are the latest leaderboard notes, adjusted Round 2 tee times and TV and streaming details.

Wyndham Clark is the player to catch as the 2026 U.S. Open moves into Friday at Shinnecock Hills. The USGA said Round 1 was suspended because of darkness and will resume at 6:35 a.m. ET, with Clark leading at 6 under and still needing to finish his opening round.
Clark, the 2023 U.S. Open champion, was 6 under through 15 holes when play stopped Thursday night. That left him four shots clear of the closest group, according to the USGA’s late Thursday update.
Sam Stevens, Max McGreevy and amateur Ryder Cowan completed opening rounds of 2-under 68. Dustin Johnson, Matt Fitzpatrick, Jon Rahm and Gary Woodland were also at 2 under with holes still to complete.
Rory McIlroy opened with a 1-under 69 after giving back shots late in his round. Bryson DeChambeau was 1 under through 16 holes, while Scottie Scheffler finished at 2-over 72.
Because the first round is not complete, the leaderboard can change before many players begin Round 2. The official U.S. Open leaderboard remains the best place to check live scoring once play resumes.
The USGA said 50 competitors will return Friday morning to finish Round 1. Play is scheduled to resume at 6:35 a.m. ET.
Round 2 tee times were pushed back 15 minutes. The first second-round groups are scheduled for 6:50 a.m. ET off Nos. 1 and 10.
The delay matters for the leaderboard because several contenders, including Clark, still have holes left in Round 1. Scores from those holes will set the field before the second round fully develops.
Golf Channel published the adjusted second-round groupings for Friday. Key tee times include:
Fans heading to Shinnecock Hills should check the official tee-time page before relying on a single listed time, especially after the delayed finish to Round 1.
The USGA’s broadcast schedule lists Friday coverage on Peacock from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. ET.
NBCSN is scheduled to carry coverage from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. ET. NBC is scheduled to carry the second round from 1:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. ET.
Featured Groups coverage is scheduled through the U.S. Open website, the USGA App, Peacock and supported TV providers. Golf Channel’s “Live From the U.S. Open” is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. ET.
The immediate watch point is the completion of Round 1. If Clark holds his advantage, the second round will begin with a clear early target; if the remaining holes tighten the board, the Friday afternoon wave could start with more players in range.
Tee times and viewing windows can also shift if play runs long or weather interrupts the schedule again. This page should be refreshed after Round 1 is completed and again when the Round 2 cut picture starts to form.
