Belmont Stakes time, channel and location

NYRA lists the Belmont Stakes as Race 13 on Saturday’s Saratoga card. The Grade 1 race carries a $2 million purse and will be run on dirt at 1 1/4 miles.

The Belmont is usually associated with Belmont Park, but NYRA says this year’s race is being held at Saratoga while the new Belmont Park project continues. The Belmont Stakes is scheduled to return to Belmont Park in 2027.

Why the Belmont is at Saratoga

The 2026 Belmont Stakes is the third leg of the Triple Crown, but it is not being run at its usual venue. NYRA says Saratoga is hosting during the Belmont Park redevelopment, and the race is 1 1/4 miles instead of the traditional 1 1/2 miles because of Saratoga’s main-track configuration.
